Raupo Elopement

Tucked away on a working sheep and beef farm at Little Akaloa, Raupo Beach is a quietly breathtaking, architect-designed coastal hideaway made for total seclusion on Banks Peninsula. Its vast, untouched beach is accessible only through the farm, meaning once you arrive, the world genuinely falls away. No neighbours. No interruptions. Just the two of you, the land, and the sea.

Built with macrocarpa milled from the property and insulated with wool, the bach stays beautifully true to its origins – simple, honest, and deeply connected to place. Off-grid living is embraced through gentle rituals rather than sacrifice, elevated by thoughtful design comforts that make staying here feel both grounding and indulgent.

Recent additions include a wood-fired sauna, a deep outdoor bath beneath the stars, and warm, considered spaces that invite you to slow down and sink into the moment. This is a place where time stretches. Where silence is a luxury. Where your elopement can unfold without an audience.

Mornings begin with barefoot walks along the beach. Days drift between paddle boarding when the swell rolls in long and lazy, or lounging on the deck with a glass of wine or a cold beer. Evenings are for barbecues, sunsets that stop you mid-sentence, and skies so clear you’ll forget city lights ever existed.

Support is close by if needed, but privacy is paramount. Raupo is an escape in the truest sense – perfect for couples who want their elopement to feel deeply personal, profoundly private, and utterly unforgettable.

Bring along a couple of guests (there are two bedrooms, after all) or keep this whole place to yourself – utilising photographers Robin + Andie as the two legal witnesses for your elopement.

THE DETAILS:

• package includes two nights’ accommodation at Raupo
• maximum of six guests for the ceremony
• maximum of four people for the two-nights’ accommodation (there are two rooms, each with a double bed)
• personalised ceremony (Kineta will help you write your vows)
• elopement certificate with your witnesses signatures on it
• keepsake vow booklets

• photos during ceremony
• 1 hour of photos onsite (this includes the ceremony). You can opt for longer. You can also choose videography as an add-on.
